The Varlion Bourne Summum Prisma Airflow MY S is a racket designed for the attacking player in competition, prioritizing power and spin. Its diamond shape and high balance point naturally lend themselves to an aggressive playstyle, and we found this to be true in our hands-on testing. We recommend it for adult players with a well-developed technique, ready to handle a racket with significant offensive capabilities. Constructed with a hard 12K carbon fiber surface and a hard EVA core, this racket delivers a firm feel on impact, which translates directly into explosive power. In our assessment, we attributed it a very strong 9.5/10 for power. The textured surface, which Varlion refers to as Slice technology, genuinely enhanced ball grip, contributing to an impressive spin rating of 8.8/10 in our tests. While its focus on power means control is a trade-off, we rate its control at 5.6/10, requiring precise execution from the player. The 38mm carbon fiber frame also contributes to its robust feel and durability. The Bourne Summum Prisma Airflow MY S is a serious tool for serious players. Its weight range of 340-375g allows for some customization, but its inherent characteristics mean it demands a player who can generate their own pace and manage its high difficulty rating of 8.6/10. For those who can wield it effectively, this racket is a true powerhouse on court, scoring 8.5/10 for durability and earning its "Unbreakable" and "Powerhouse" classifications. Manufacturer's Description

Bourne is a model that was born in 2018 from the fusion between the Cañon (diamond shape created in 1995) and the Avant (teardrop shape created in 2009). As a result, we achieved a teardrop-shaped racket, designed for players who seek control in their game without losing power. This professional-level racket has the PRISMA frame, with which we manage to reduce the contact point of the frame against walls and surfaces by 90%, as well as 10% air resistance. All this means better maneuverability of the racket and greater acceleration capacity on hits. On the other hand, we have reinforced its most fragile point (the head) with an adhesive bumper that adapts perfectly to its shape, the Prisma bumper. This not only covers the frame, but also its connection with the plane of the racket. When it comes to applying effects to the hits, it presents a rough texture in the plane called Slice, which has been designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the ball to stick more. In addition, to eliminate the influence of temperature on racket’s materials, this model has been manufactured with two types of rubber: a softer one, called ""W"", recommended to be used at low temperatures or up to 25ºC / 77ºFF; and a harder one, called ""S"", recommended to be used at temperatures above 25ºC / 77ºF. For this reason, we recommend to carry both rackets in the bag so that the player uses one model or another, depending on the ambient temperature. As its name suggests, the Bourne Summum Prisma includes Summum technology in its construction, which is based on the sum of several factors. A longer grip than usual to provide the player with a more comfortable and professional grip, and also to make it easier for those who use both hands on backhand shots. A 1 cm longer striking surface. The Wings Diffuser technology in the heart, with an aerodynamically improved diffuser, which provides more maneuverability and precision. And finally, it is worth highlighting the Handlesafety technology, a new safety system for the handle. Normally, in all rackets the rope comes out from a centered hole which is attached to the handle frame by means of a pin, rivets, nails, etc. However, with this system, the rope goes through the two walls of the handle and comes out on both sides of the tip, thus giving 100% safety and comfort to the grip.
