The Piton Junior, with its round shape and medium balance, is clearly designed for younger players starting out. Weighing between 310-320g, it is quite manageable for children, and we found it offers a comfortable introduction to handling a padel racket. The soft fiberglass surface combined with a medium EVA core provides a forgiving feel, which is beneficial for developing consistency. We rate its control at 5.7/10, which is good for its target audience, allowing for easier ball placement as skills develop. Power, as expected for a racket of this type, is on the lower side; we attributed it 3.9/10, suitable for controlled rallies rather than aggressive play. In our testing, we observed that its 34mm carbon fiber frame offers a reasonable level of durability, scoring 4.9/10 in our assessment, which is important for a racket likely to see a lot of court action and occasional knocks. The smooth surface is straightforward, not complicating spin generation, which we rated at 3.5/10. Overall, this 2024 model serves as a solid all-rounder for junior beginners, focusing on ease of use and fostering fundamental skills without overwhelming the player. We rate its value for money at 6.6/10, reflecting its appropriate specifications for its price point.
